| The Six Nations Committee, the governing body that manages the foremost annual international rugby tournament in the world, the RBS 6 Nations, have linked with leading sports website provider Sotic to deliver a new official online presence for the tournament, which kicked off this month. |
The website for the prestigious and historic tournament – http://www.rbs6nations.com - has been completely rebuilt for the 2008 Championship, with sports fans able to access up-to-date news, fixtures, scores, tables and statistics and for the first time in the tournament’s history the site is fully delivered in three languages English, French and Italian extending the reach into the growing online rugby market in mainland Europe.
The extended functionality also includes dynamic data on each union and every player from data provider SAS, podcasts and video highlights of all the matches. The site is further enhanced with a fans section with games, competitions and the views of former players, provided by the support of the tournament’s sponsor RBS.
The website was designed and delivered by sports specialists Sotic, and powered by RedDot’s Content Management Platform.
“We have worked closely with Six Nations to deliver a comprehensive and highly interactive website, worthy of this prestigious International Tournament,” said Sotic’s Technical Director Leo Mindel.
Sotic has now delivered over 25 sports websites, including those for the International Sailing Federation, the Welsh Rally GB the Welsh and Irish Rugby Unions and other major rugby tournaments, such as the Guinness Premiership and the Heineken Cup.
