How to create a QR Code?
QR codes can be generated very simply using a QR generator, many of which can be found on the internet. It is a simple process of entering the appropriate data into the QR code generator, all of which are free. For more guidance on generating a code call Sotic and we will happily talk you through the process.
How to read a QR Code?
There are multiple QR code readers available for camera enabled smartphones including Barcode Scanner and Red Laser. Newer phones also have the facility in built. These readers can be found by searching on your mobile's app store. Most work by simply holding the phone over the QR code and once in focus the code will be captured and the information within that code processed and actioned.
In-built tracking in QR Codes
QR codes are completely trackable. For instance, if you place a QR code in your match programme directing fans to the online ticket promotion for the next game, you can build tracking into that specific QR code at the point of generation and the number of people who purchase tickets via the QR code can be analysed. It is very simple to implement but very effective. Sotic can integrate its Urchin tracking system into a QR code which will then generate results that we can deliver in the monthly traffic report we provide for clients . For more details contact us.
Using QR codes
There are multiple platforms that work with QR codes but ultimately you are looking to share and promote specific content be it video, competitions, specific website text, social media pages etc.
These are just some of the potential uses:
• On business cards
• Marketing materials.
• The sides of taxis or other promotional vehicles
• Products and packaging
• Conference and event name tags
• Event literature
• Calendars
• Ticketing
QR codes can link to:
• Directions to your business and contact details
• Valuable promotions and special offers
• Free downloads
• Ticket details
• Fixtures and events
• Merchandise sales
• Customer feedback forms
• Social Media sites ( eg your Facebook page or Twitter account)
The QR code really does allow the digital world to link to the real world at the touch of a button.
